A cornered Spider-Man, caught between paranoia and loyalty
In King’s Ransom, Peter Parker lives under constant pressure. Every alleyway, every glance could belong to a bounty hunter. That atmosphere of tension echoes certain turning points in the saga, such as the arc One More Day, where his identity was already putting the people close to him in danger.

That shift in approach shows just how well Marvel lets its antagonists evolve. Fisk is no longer a brutal mobster, he is a formidable strategist, almost untouchable. And in that corrupt environment, Spider-Man still has to embody hope.
