The short answer

Bringing the web-slinger together with the Moon's vigilante means setting two investigative methods against each other: lab analysis and wisecracks on one side, ritual psychometry and silent intimidation on the other. Here, their hunt targets a cult repurposing Spider-Slayer machines in Hell's Kitchen. Clues, tactics and cosplay ideas below.

1. When the moon lights up the spider: New York under double surveillance

New York has more than one night-time vigilante. While Spider-Man spins his web from Queens to Manhattan, the mysterious Moon Knight prowls the same alleyways bathed in the pallid glow of the neon signs — guided, so they say, by the Egyptian god Khonshu. When their paths cross, the result is explosive: scientific rationalism versus lunar mysticism, mocking humour against impassive silence.

This article retraces their most memorable team-up: a mystical investigation tied to a run of ritual sacrifices that plunged Hell’s Kitchen into terror. You’ll find out how Spencer Smythe linked arachnid technology to Khonshu’s relics, why Moon Knight’s methods rattle Peter Parker’s moral compass, and which weapons, gadgets and costumes came out during the hunt. Best of all: the top collectables & cosplay picks for recreating this iconic duo!

Two vigilantes, two methods

Scientific rationalism against lunar mysticism: Spider-Man and Moon Knight join forces to investigate ritual sacrifices in Hell’s Kitchen.

2. Crime scene: lunar glyphs and tangled webs

On a full-moon night, Spider-Man answers a call on the rooftops of Hell’s Kitchen: a security guard found unconscious, his body covered in Egyptian glyphs chalked onto his skin, and caught in a spider’s web… that is not his own. Peter quickly realises he is not alone: Moon Knight is already standing in the shadow of a gargoyle, his white cloak snapping in the wind.

First divergence in method — while Spider-Man looks for scientific clues (polymer residue, thermal prints), Moon Knight calls up a ritual of psychometry, pressing a silver coin to the victim’s forehead to ‘read’ the scene through Khonshu’s eyes. The contrast amuses Peter as much as it unsettles him: he prefers humour and logic to celestial mysticism.

3. Infiltrating the lair: when science meets the moon

The clues they have gathered lead the two vigilantes to a derelict warehouse on the Red Hook waterfront. Officially it houses an agricultural drone lab; in reality, Spencer Smythe is assembling Spider-Slayers reprogrammed to serve a cult devoted to Khonshu. Spider-Man wants to plant spider-tracers and go in through the ducts; Moon Knight demands a frontal approach, convinced the light of the full moon will shield him. The upshot: they combine the two.

3.1 Tactics merged: a three-part plan

1
Arachnid silence Peter neutralises the laser sensors with polymer pellets (link Spidey Gadgets).
➜ Product accessory: Spider-Tech grip gloves.
2
Sacred light Moon Knight raises a circle of silver glyphs to scramble the thermal cameras.
➜ Product accessory: Khonshu moon lamps.
3
Audiovisual decoy Spider-Man plays the jingle of the Daily Bugle to draw the guards out, while Moon Knight drops from the roof like a ghost.

3.2 Clash with the mystical Spider-Slayers

Deep inside the hangar, three gilded Mk-IV Slayers — covered in lunar glyphs — are on patrol. Spider-Man hacks their AI through the maintenance port, while Moon Knight lodges adamantium crescent moons in their joints. The upshot: mechanical implosion and a burst of myrrh; an occult scent hangs in the air.

3.3 The MacGuffin: the Arachno-Lunar Eye

In an alcove, the heroes uncover the heart of the plot: an orb-shaped crystal called the Arachno-Lunar Eye. Smythe built it from a meteorite fragment tied to Khonshu and a residual symbiote picked up on the black market. The device channels lunar energy and turns it into an electromagnetic field able to shut down the Spider-Sense. A serious danger for Peter… and an insult to the god of the moon.

4. Duel under the full moon: an unexpected alliance, a lightning victory

4.1 Facing Smythe: science corrupted by the cult

Cornered in his lab, Spencer Smythe switches on the Arachno-Lunar Eye. The beam immediately scrambles Peter’s Spider-Sense while Moon Knight, for his part, falls into a trance — Khonshu roars inside his head. The glyphs on the device crackle: Smythe believes he is controlling a god.

4.2 Science plus mysticism: a duo finally in tune

1
Spider-Man redirects the beam into a Tesla coil improvised from his conductive webbing (↗️ article Spidey Gadgets).
2
Moon Knight strikes the crystal with a crescent moon of blessed adamantium, channelling Khonshu’s energy to break the assembly apart.
3
Result — the Eye implodes, a local EMP wave; Smythe neutralised, the Spider-Slayers offline.

4.3 Legacy & moral: the weight of belief

At first light, Peter patches up the damaged rooftops while Marc Spector meditates in the last of the moonlight. A telling exchange:

Spider-Man — ‘I don’t believe in gods, but I have faith in responsibility.’
Moon Knight — ‘Responsibility, faith: two paths, one destination.’
